Bell Let’s Talk Day takes place today.
The purpose of the day is to raise awareness and funds for mental health.
TSN Personality and Mental Health Advocate Michael Landsberg says Bell Let’s Talk Day is very important.
Landsberg adds he is still talking to people who don’t feel like they can share their mental health struggles, which means there is a lot of work to do.
Landsberg says he doesn’t think about the money component of Bell Let’s Talk Day.
Locally, Milton MPP Parm Gill released a statement about Bell Let’s Talk Day.
“Mental health affects all of us,” said MPP Gill. “Everyone in our communities can get involved in the important conversations that are taking place on Bell Let’s Talk Day and take action to help those who may be struggling.”
The statement adds that ‘whether by phone, email or text, there is no better time than today for those in Milton to reach out to one another, talk about mental health and how each member of our community can work together to help those who are struggling.’
“I encourage everyone to take part in Bell Let’s Talk Day and help create positive change,” said MPP Gill. “I urge you to continue these important conversations not just today, but throughout the year, so that together we can make a difference in our community.”
On Bell Let’s Talk Day, Bell will donate 5 cents for every applicable text, call, tweet, social media video view and use of their Facebook frame or Snapchat filter. Just use #BellLetsTalk.
