The Milton Public Library will have a new resource to help visitors with dementia and other forms of cognitive impairment.
Cognitive Care Kits contain up to ten unique, dementia-friendly activities such as games, workbooks, puzzles, and various prepared activities.
They will hopefully enhance environments that support the needs, interests, skills, and abilities of individuals living with a cognitive impairment like dementia.
In a provided statement, Adult Services Librarian, Mary O’Connor, says they are excited to launch these new kits.
“We are very excited for the launch of Milton Public Library’s new cognitive care kits. These kits will help support caregivers and connect individuals in our community who live with dementia,” said Mary O’Connor, Adult Services Librarian.
She adds that these kits will be a great tool to connect caregivers and those with dementia.
The Kits come free with your library card, but first time users must schedule an appointment with the Library beforehand.
Schedule your appointment today by visiting the Milton Public Library’s website or emailing mary.oconnor@beinspiredatmpl.ca for more information.
