Empathy based training through the lenses of virtual reality.
That is the new technology that the Halton Police have introduced in their training programming for the upcoming year.
Police officers will now have access to three different VR training scenarios.
The key teaching tool will be empathy according to Deputy Chief Roger Wilkie.
Staff Sergeant Dave Tutte says that empathy is an important teaching tool for officers.
Wilkie adds that this will help officers make better choices.
The new teaching tools come with a partnership with Axon.
