The Town of Milton will see an increase in housing within the next five years.
At the Halton Regional Council meeting last week, they passed a motion that would see Milton receive over 8,000 single detached equivalents.
Regional Councillor Colin Best says this will be a big deal for development within the region.
Best adds that the one that staff approved gave them greater flexibility.

Also, included in the motion, the Region approved that 3,000 affordable housing units would be approved.
While the number in Milton hasn’t been confirmed yet, Councillor Best says that this was something needed in the Region.
