Give back to those in need in your community this holiday season by making a donation to the Salvation Army’s Food Bank.
The Salvation Army has partnered with the Milton Fire Department, as well as boy and girl scout teams, and local hockey teams to collect items at various locations throughout Milton and Campbellville.
Volunteer coordinator and warehouse manager, Marisa Prada, tells us what they’re looking for.
Prada says items donated to this drive has to last them the year, which is a big challenge.
They do have pantries you can donate to throughout the year, says Prada.
Volunteers will be at these locations from 9 am until noon on Saturday December 7th.
The Salvation Army’s food bank is looking for rice, apple juice, orange juice, other fruit juices, granola bars, fruit cups, pudding cups, canned fruit, salmon, cookies and crackers.
The food bank has helped approximately 320 families in Milton and Campbellville each year.
The Salvation Army expects there will be more families in need.
If you can’t stop by any of these locations to donate, you can also make a monetary donation.
