
This past Friday was National Housing Day.
There was an event held by the Oakville and Milton District Real Estate Board and United Way Halton and Hamilton to honour the event.
The Region of Halton is working hard to improve housing for residents in need.
Director of Housing Services with the Halton Region and the Chief Operating Officer for Halton Community Housing Corporation Andrew Balahura says National Housing Day brings attention to homelessness in the country.
Balahura adds the Halton Region is looking to create new assisted housing stock for residents in need.
Balahura says the Region is working very hard to find solutions for homelessness.
He says they will be reaching out to partners to start the process in the new year.
