November is Women Abuse Prevention Month.
The goal is to raise awareness and help end violence towards women.
Development Manager with Halton Women’s Place, Carm Bozzo, says it’s an opportunity to put an emphasis on prevention and education.
Bozzo adds that the holidays can often be an added stress on families.
She says it’s a stressful time for every family, and that those suffering from abuse may feel even worse.
Bozzo talks about warning signs to look out for when it comes to abuse in a relationship.
The Wrapped in Courage campaign is also going on this month.
You can support the Halton Women’s Place by wearing purple.
They will also be launching merchandise that can be purchased on their website.
The funds raised will support the shelter and for more information you can click here.
