
Remembrance Day is on Monday and the Royal Canadian Legion Milton Branch is making sure residents have their poppies.
They kicked off their poppy campaign on October 25th and will run until November 11th.
Communications and PR Professional for the Legion, Sameera Ali, talks about where you can find a poppy if you still need one.
Ali, says their campaign is focused on commemorating our veterans.
Ali encourages Miltonians to thank volunteers for their service adding that there are poppy stickers to protect children.
Finally, she reflects on the importance of Remembrance Day.
On Sunday, they will be holding the Milton parade which will begin at the legion, located at 21 Charles Street.
The march will end at the Victoria Park cenotaph with a service to follow upon arrival.
Attendees can then return to the legion for refreshments that are available for purchase.
They will also be holding their annual Evergreen Cemetery service on Remembrance Day followed by a veterans luncheon.
The veteran’s luncheon will start with cocktails at noon, doors will open at 12:30 and the ceremony starts at 1 with the luncheon and entertainment to follow.
Tickets for the Veteran’s luncheon are available for 12 dollars from now until November 10th in the Legion’s club room.
