A Jean Vanier Catholic Secondary School student is making her mark in Calgary!
15-year old Mikaela Mendoza is participating at the RBC Training Grounds.
It’s a qualifier for young athletes to showcase their skills for Olympic Canada.
Mendoza is this month’s myFM Athlete of the Month!
She’s done pretty well in Calgary!
Mendoza adds that those who really exceed at the qualifier receive funding for their training.
Despite being gymnast, Mendoza has received interest from the Canadian Women’s Rugby team.
She says, right now, her end goal is to play sports in the NCAA and get a medical degree in biology.
