100 Women Who Care Milton chose the Milton Special Olympics organization as the recipient of a cheque worth $5,800 at their fourth quarterly meeting last night.
Their organization is run entirely by 70 volunteers and currently consists of 120 athletes.
Executive members of the Milton Special Olympics, Terri Twiss and Jeannie Taylor, tell us how they feel about receiving this money.
Past recipients for the quarterly donation include Re:SOUL Youth Centre and Infant Food Bank.
Their money went towards a multitude of things, including repairs and general funding.
Twiss and Taylor explain where their $5,800 will be going.
The two have a message for Miltonians.
The other two charities that were nominated last night were Women’s Centre of North Halton and Community Foundation Halton North.
The Milton Special Olympics are holding a fundraiser.
The event will have a silent auction, raffles, a 50/50 draw, and a bake table.
Donations for their silent auction, raffle and draw all came from local businesses.
