Milton’s Town Council is reviewing the proposed changes to a provincial policy that aims to help municipalities increase their housing supply, support jobs, and reduce barriers and costs in the land-use planning system.
Town Councillor for Ward 2, John Challinor, feels that it’s clear the province understands the issues municipalities and Ontarians are facing due to growth.
Challinor adds that the places-to-grow policy needs to be reviewed and revised.
He remains optimistic that these changes will be implemented.
Regional Councillor for Ward 3, Mike Cluett, says that the Halton Region is also coming forth with their own concerns and recommendations for the province.
That report will be brought forward during next week’s regional council meeting.
