The Milton Public Library held their new children’s card design contest reveal over the weekend at their new Sherwood Community Centre branch.
There were over 300 contestants for the contest, with only two winners.
The winner for the age 3-7 category was 7-year old Umaiza Syed.
The winner for the age 8-12 category was 12-year old Iori Terazono.
The two share what it was like to win.
Manager of Public Service for the Milton Public Library, Lee Puddephatt, says it’s great to see the large participation.
Community-led Librarian, Emily Thompson, adds that it’s great to see the kids grow.
The two winners were both chosen by Milton-native Cmdr. Chris Hadfield.
They each received a letter and autographed photo from Hadfield, as well.
