
There was a debate on the environment on Thursday night.
It was held at Craig Kielburger Secondary School as part of the 100 Debates on the Environment, running nationwide.
It was in partnership with the Canadian Federation of University Women.
Green Party candidate Eleanor Hayward says the carbon levy isn’t a gamechanger.
NDP candidate for Milton, Farina Hassan, says she isn’t fond of how previous governments have dealt with the environment.
On the topic of the carbon levy, Milton’s Liberal Party candidate for the federal election, Adam van Koeverden, says it’s a start.
He lists off many different ways the Liberal Party plans to help the environment.
Local Conservative Party candidate, Lisa Raitt, isn’t shy when talking about the climate, especially the carbon levy.
She says there are better options.
Four of the five federal candidates for Milton were present to take part in the debate.
PPC candidate Percy Dastur chose to opt out.
The federal election is on October 21st.
