
Members of the Canadian Union of Public Employees are preparing to strike on Monday, October 7th.
That includes all 55,000 custodians, librarians, technicians and other support staff in Ontario public schools.
Executive Officer for Human Resources for the Halton District School Board, Debra McFadden, says students might see some changes, but everything we keep moving as normal.
McFadden, says it’s important to limit these kinds of disputes with the union.
McFadden, says she believes the HDSB’s relationship with CUPE remains strong.
As it stands, the CUPE strike is expected for Monday, October 7th.
The Halton District Catholic School Board has announced their decision to close schools on Monday, and for the duration of the strike.
We are still waiting for the HDSB’s decision on whether or not to close schools.
