
The Halton Police have arrested four individuals connected to a number of high-end vehicle thefts in Oakville.
Between the dates of September 17th and September 23rd, the Halton Police received 10 reports of newer model Lexus and Toyota SUVs being stolen from residential driveways.
In the early morning of September 24th, the Halton Police patrolled a residential neighbourhood that had been targeted when they stopped a vehicle at the intersection of Postridge Drive and Dundas Street in Oakville.
The four occupants in the car were arrested for possession of break and enter tools.
During that stop and search, the police found several Lexus key fobs, an on board diagnostics device, screwdrivers, gloves and flashlights and the ID of a victim who had their SUV stolen on September 16th.
They also found a large amount of money.
All four individuals were held for a bail hearing.
The following charges were laid against the four individuals:
A 23 year old individual from Montreal was charged with possession of property obtained by crime and possession of break in instruments.
An 18 year old from Montreal was charged with possession of property obtained by crime and possession of break-in instruments.
A 26 year old from Montreal was charged with possession of property obtained by crime, possession of break-in instruments, possession of a controlled substance and 4 counts of breach of probation.
And a 20 year old from Longueuil, Quebec, was charged with possession of property obtained by crime, possession of break in instruments, possessions of proceeds of crime and fail to comply with recognizance.
