Milton’s Kayla Alexander wrote ‘The Magic of Basketball’.
The story follows the journey of a young girl playing basketball.
Alexander expresses why she wanted to write a children’s book.
Alexander adds that basketball has so much to offer.
She wants kids to learn that they have the opportunities and life skills available to them if they work hard enough.
Alexander talks about the importance of having a main character be a young black girl.
