
The Italian Canadian Club of Milton celebrated their 50th anniversary last night.
As part of the festivities, the organization presented a cheque of their $3000 donation to the Darling Home For Kids.
The amount was matched by Scotiabank, bringing the donation to $6000 total.
Vice President of the Italian Club, Rosanna Conteduca, talks about building on what has been established with the club.
Present for the 50th Anniversary celebration was Milton MPP Parm Gill.
He commended the Club for helping grow diversity in the Town of Milton.
Milton MP Lisa Raitt was in attendance.
She talks about how important the hard-working early members were for the the ICCM’s longevity.
The Club recently received a grant from the Ontario government.
With the money they’ve been able to renovate their location on Tremaine Road.
In 2020, the ICCM will be renamed to the Italian Cultural Centre of Milton.
