
Drivers will now be able to display proof of auto insurance electronically.
On September 5th, the provincial government announced that drivers will be able to use their phones to carry their proof of auto insurance in addition to their paper “pink card.”
The move is part of the Putting Drivers First blueprint that was announced in the 2019 budget.
MPP Parm Gill says that their reforms to the auto insurance sector are designed to best suit the needs of drivers.
The government will work with the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario to modernize auto insurance in the province.
MPP Parm Gill says that ” putting driver’s needs first is the central focus of his private member’s bill that will end postal discrimination in auto insurance rate setting and will provide relief for customers.”
