The Province of Ontario is committing more money to French schools in Ontario.
Last week, the Province announced that after negotiating with the Federal Government the Province will have an additional $4 million annually to support French-language education in Ontario.
This was in addition to $26 million that they committed for the 2019-20 school year.
Education Minister Stephen Lecce says that this investment is going to go a long way with French Education.
Minister Lecce says that this new funding will complement the investment that the Province has already made.
He adds that this is critical to student success in the Province.
There are 12 French-language school boards in Ontario with 470 French-language schools; almost 110,000 students attend French-language schools.
Part of the investment will go towards, supporting school boards and community organizations to build local engagement and promote inclusion for the French language and culture.
