On Friday, August 23rd, Milton MPP Parm Gill announced the Sport Hosting Program.
In a statement, MPP Gill said Milton is one of the best places to play sports.
“Milton is one of the best places to be an athlete and play sports,” said MPP Gill. “Through the Ontario Sport Hosting Program, I am pleased to announce the 2020 TISSOT UCI Track Cycling World Cup, and UCI Para Cycling Track World Championships will be returning to Milton from January 24 to February 2, 2020.”
He also used the Mattamy National Cycling Centre as an example.
$798,372 will be given to 15 events in the first intake of the Program.
These events are expected to feature more than 4,800 athletes from 114 countries.
Application for the second intake is currently open and will run until September 30th.
