
The Halton Police are spreading awareness about vehicle theft prevention, encouraging people to lock their vehicles or run the risk of losing personal items.
Investigators of the Halton Police did an investigation on just how many vehicle thefts have taken place since the beginning of this year.
Halton Police Detective Sergeant, Ellie Bale, shares what they found.
Bale, says criminals often move onto the next target if they find doors are locked.

The Halton Police encourage residents to park in well lit areas, never leave your vehicle running or unattended and either bring your belongings with you or move them out of plain sight.
She also expanded on some of the numbers they’ve seen this year.
Halton Police would like to remind residents of the following tips.

- Never leave valuables in plain sight
- Ensure your vehicle doors are always locked
- Always roll up vehicle windows
- Take electronics with you
- Never leave vehicle running and unattended
