Standing together in unity.
Milton’s Town Council has voted unanimously to back MPP Parm Gill’s request of an environmental assessment of the Reid Reservoir Quarry.
Council was packed on Monday night as residents backing the ACTION Milton group filled the seats.
Regional Councillor for Ward 1, Colin Best, says it’s about being informed.
Councillor Best adds that from what he’s heard, Ontario already has enough quarries.
He wants to know why the province needs another one, especially one that will impact a community so closely.
The motion will now be moved to Halton’s Regional Council.
He says that he and the Region have concerns regarding possible plans with the Quarry.
They will vote to potentially back the environmental assessment in September.
