
Finance minister Bill Morneau met with local business leaders at the Oakville Chamber of Commerce today.
During his visit, Morneau talked about topics such as the increases made to the Canada Child Benefit and the Federal government’s commitment to investing in small to medium sized businesses.
Morneau ensures Canadians concerned about Federal spending that they are only making investments because they are in the fiscal position to be able to do so.
He adds that they will continue to be fiscally responsible as they invest in the small to medium sized businesses that will help with overall job creation.
He further explains how the Federal government is investing in these businesses.
Morneau reflects on how we are currently experiencing one of the lowest rates of unemployment in more than a generation.
When looking to the future, he encourages Canadians of all ages to be optimistic that the recent trend in job creation will continue.
In regards to student job creation, Morneau talks about what they have done to improve those numbers.
During his stop at the Oakville Chamber of Commerce, he got to hear the thoughts and concerns of business leaders.
He shares some of the commentary he heard.
Morneau wants the people of Milton and Oakville to know that they want everyone to feel heard as they work on creating a platform that ensures long term security.
