At Monday’s council meeting, councillors voted to send a letter to the provincial government asking them to re-think their funding plans for families affected by autism and service providers.

Local concerns surround the recent layoffs at the Erin Oaks Care Centre for kids will result in children across the spectrum being sent to school without the proper therapy and preparation they need.
Regional Councillor Mike Cluett hopes that the provincial government can come up with a workable solution that will ensure children across the autism spectrum will get the therapy they need.
Cluett is optimistic that these tours will be productive.
He hopes that a solution can be found in a timely manner.
Cluett hopes that with the constant push from municipalities, the general public and the families of children with autism that the best solution will be brought forward.
