
An emotional last day at the CN Intermodal Hub that saw several politicians and CN speak regarding the proposed hub.
Milton Says No, and Milton RAIL both spoke out against the proposed project along with the Town of Milton and the Halton Region.
Milton Mayor Gordon Krantz was also in attendance and says he happy with what he’s heard.
He also added that they are encouraged by the political support against the hub.
Two of Milton’s other elected officials, Milton MPP Parm Gill, Milton MP Lisa Raitt have also announced they are against the hub.
Liberal Candidate Adam van Koeverden was also in attendance and says he is also against the intermodal.
The expected announcement of the panel is to come by January of next year at the latest.
“We appreciate the contributions of all the participants in this important process, and of those who have continued to provide input on the Project since it was first announced in March 2015,” said Mark Lerner, vice-president of Corporate Marketing at CN. “We believe this has led to a more thorough and robust evaluation of our extensive work.”
CN also says that will continue to discuss and explore opportunities for additional benefits with the Halton Region and elected officials.
