The Region of Halton released it’s Year-End Report for their Waste Management Site.
There was an increase of 4% in overall waste within Halton last year.
Regional Councillor for Ward 3, Mike Cluett, says the increase could be attached to residual waste being left in recyclables.
Councillor Mike Cluett adds that with Milton’s rapid growth, education will play a key role in the Region’s waste.
Saying waste management for condos can be more difficult than a typical house.
Councillor Mike Cluett adds that with the Conservatives firmly settled into the provincial government, some changes will be made.
However, he says that some other region’s in the province are looking at Halton as a good example on how to manage waste.
