Community Housing in Milton got a boost from the Province yesterday morning.
Steve Clark, the Minister Municipal Affairs and Housing announced yesterday that they are investing $900,000 in 24 new apartments for individuals and families at the Victoria Park Community Homes in Milton.
He says that this is one of the ways the Province is trying lower housing costs in the region.
Milton MPP Parm Gill also added that there is a shortage in community housing in the area and called this a great step forward.
Minister Clark cites Bill 108, the More Homes More Choices Act as a big reason for the investment.
In addition to the $900,000, Victoria Park Community Homes also received $2.7 million in joint federal-provincial funding from the Investment in Affordable Housing program for the apartment building.
