A Cold Warning has been issued for Halton Region.
Overnight temperatures are expected to remain in the extreme cold range until tomorrow morning (February 13th).
The Cold Warning is in effect until overnight temperatures rise above -15 degrees Celsius (without wind-chill) or weather conditions improve and the risks involved with prolonged exposure are reduced.
Exposure to this cold can increase your risk of cold-related injuries, including frostbite and hypothermia. These injuries could result in severe health issues.
Anyone can be affected by these cold conditions, however, those at higher risks include:
-Those over the age of 65
-Young children and infants
-Outdoors sports enthusiasts
Be sure to cover any exposed skin, and to check in on those you know who may be at risk.
