Informally known as Ontario's "Storyteller-in-Chief", Ms. Dowdeswell will make her first official visit to Milton on March 9, 2018 to learn about the community and meet Miltonians.
The official visit will take place at the Mattamy National Cycling Centre and include a private meeting with Milton Mayor Gord Krantz, a roundtable discussion with members of the Milton Youth Advisory Committee and a meet and greet from 3:30 pm to 4:00 pm, open to members of the public.
The youth roundtable discussion will focus on environmental sustainability and include a discussion about the proposed Giant's Rib geopark with Conservation Halton's Associate Director of Greenspace Revitalization and Forestry, Niall Lobley.
"This is a wonderful opportunity to share stories about our community with Ontario's Lieutenant Governor," said Milton Mayor Gord Krantz. "The Milton Youth Advisory Committee's participation in the roundtable discussion will bring a unique perspective about the importance of preserving our greenspaces for future generations to enjoy."
Members of the public are encouraged to drop by the lobby of the Mattamy National Cycling Centre to meet and share stories with Ontario's Lieutenant Governor, Elizabeth Dowdeswell on Friday, March 9 between 3:30 pm and 4:00 pm.
